....... is essential for safeguarding children.

Practitioners who work with children, young people, parents and carers should do so in a way that is positive and open, recognising where things go well but also being as honest as possible if there are disagreements about what should be done to make things better.
Everyone has a view on what is best for children and young people. It is one of the biggest topics in our daily newspapers and our everyday conversation. What we know is that overwhelmingly it is the parents and carers who know their children best.
But things can go wrong in looking after children because it is one of the hardest tasks that anyone will ever have. And everyone may need help at sometime. In Tameside we make available the services that will help support children and young people to be safe themselves and to be looked after safely by their parents and carers.
Working in partnership means being able to deal with difficult situations to achieve the best for children by working together, looking for the right solutions and acknowledging where we get things right and wrong. It isn't always easy but the rewards are immense in helping children grow up as happy and well as possible.
