Welcome to the Tameside Safeguarding Children Board (TSCB)

Tameside Safeguarding Children Board (TSCB) is the partnership to promote the safety and well-being of children and young people in Tameside.

Safeguarding children is Everyone's Business and we all have an interest in doing the best for children and young people. Being a parent or carer is one of the hardest tasks anyone does and we want to support everyone who works with children and their parents and carers so that children can thrive in their families and communities.

Here on the TSCB website there is information for everyone to find out more about making Tameside a safe and happy place for children and young people.

We also know that a very small number of children and young people will need extra protection from harm and this website also provides information to help respond to concerns about children and young people.

What to do if you have a concern about a child ....

If you are worried about a child, that they may be harmed by situations they are in, at home or in the community, then there are things you can do:

If the situation is dangerous for the child then ring 999 and ask for the Police.

If the situation is not immediately dangerous for the child but you are worried that a child is not safe from harm then ring Children's Social Work and ask to discuss the situation with the duty social worker. You can do this anonymously if you wish. Ring the following numbers:

Monday to Friday during office hours – 0161 342 4150

Monday to Friday outside office hours and weekends and public holidays – 0161 342 2222
