'The protection of children in England: action plan – The Government’s response to Lord Laming' 'The protection of children in England: action plan – The Government’s response to Lord Laming' set out the Government's shared commitment to do everything possible to deliver improvements in safeguarding practice following the publication of Lord Laming’s report, 'The Protection of Children in England: A Progress Report', in March 2009. Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) - Advisory Group final report and recommendations (2010) The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) set up the Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) Advisory Group in July 2009. Its key role is to provide advice to Ministers on how schools can most effectively tackle the issue of violence against women and girls, as part of the development of the cross government VAWG Strategy. The Staying Safe Action Plan was published in February 2008 as the first ever cross-Government strategy for improving children and young people's safety.
