Publication of Serious Case Review Executive SummariesThe TSCB today (24th August 2010) publishes two Serious Case Review Executive summaries, re Child C and Child D. These are unrelated cases and neither involves the death of a child. The commissioning of these SCRs reflect the commitment of the TSCB and member agencies to learn from experience so that, in families where concerns are raised about the ability of parents to care for them, children receive an excellent response from all agencies. Throughout the review process organisations have implemented changes to their policies, procedures, guidance and training in response to information gleaned. We have learned a great deal and the Board is overseeing the implementation of all the Action Plans drawn up as a result of the lessons learned. Significant changes are being made in relation to: the recognition of and action to be taken when concerns about harm are raised; the assessment of harm; and the appropriate sharing of information, so that the right steps are taken to protect children from further harm. For more information on the Executive Summaries please go to the Serious Case Review section of the website. |
