TSCB Guidance, Policies & Procedures

Tameside Safeguarding Children Board produces a range of guidance, policies and procedures that are used by agencies and practitioners to support the way that they work with people who use their services.

Such guidance is very important in underpinning practice but the key to achieving the best outcomes for children and families is the way that practitioners work with children, young people, parents, carers and communities to help children and young people to grow up as healthy and happy as possible.

In some areas of practice there are very good resources produced by government agencies and these are also used to guide the way that services work with people. These resources are also signposted here (some are located in the Safeguarding Library on this website).

Safeguarding Children Whose Parents/Carers Misuse Drugs or are Dependent on Alcohol - Joint Working protocol

These guidelines have been written for use by the many statutory, nonstatutory, voluntary, independent sector and primary care services working with adults with mental health and/or drug and/or alcohol problems within Tameside who are parents, carers or have another significant role in the family.
