Madrasahs are supplementary schools set up to deliver Islamic education in order to promote the religious, cultural and linguistic identities of children aged 5 to 15. They operate daily in the evenings between 4.30pm - 7.30pm and in some cases at weekends. Madrasahs are self-financing, voluntary and independent. They are managed, administered and coordinated by volunteers from the local community who want Muslim children to become model citizens whilst maintaining their religious and cultural heritage. The TSCB has worked with Madrasah and mosque leaders to develop guidance, Learning Well and Safely for the volunteers and parents of children who attend the Madrasahs.
